Message I was under the same impression too until I did a little quick homework. I have 291k on my Z and daily drive it mostly commuting at 70 miles one way @ 80+ mph. I'm responsible for 110k of that total. I run Mobil 1 pure syn exclusively in all my vehicles. I think consistent oil changes are key to engine longevity along with quality maintenance.

That being said I simply looked on RockAuto where I buy my filters in bulk for several vehicles at a time. If you scan down the list of filters and click on the blue info tab you'll be surprised. For instance I have a shelf of Wix filters for several vehicles but I may have to rethink my next purchase when I exhaust this supply.

What I pay attention to in the specs are type of filter media, anti drain back yes, pressure relief no, and most important MICRON filtration. The smaller the number the better.

The Fram Extra Guard checks all the boxes and has a Mi = 8, the best by far filtration of all that offered to list the ratings.

Wix = 21
Bosch Premium = 20
Bosch economy = 30
Several other "unfamiliar" named filters seem to be in the 20's range.

It would be interesting to know the numbers of the Nissan filters.
